The mayor has come up with another splendid idea...



She wants to start ticketing those individuals that give money to the homeless. WTF? Um, I'm sorry, last time I checked it was my money to do with what I please.

Her reasoning: If we weren't out there giving them money there would be no need for them to be out there.

what she needs to do is fund the shelters the already exist to improve conditions there, plus she needs to maybe think about building a new one somewhere

however, laura miller is looking more appealling by the day considering all the people in council who oppose her are currently under fbi investigation with regards to money

wow, i am amazed by this... the article says she suggested it. It then says that the police gave her the idea. And THEN she says she neither supports or opposes the law. I'm so glad we have Laura Miller in office, she is definitely a grand decision maker and knows exactly where she stands.

I have to say this is the stupidest law i have ever seen, who is she to say whether or not i give my money to anyone? I think our money would be better spent helping the homeless with homeless shelters, get them off the street, give them a place to go. otherwise we are going to continue to deal with the homeless. this wont stop them from panhandling, they will continue to stand on street corners hoping for a hand out or for a free hot meal and warm bed when they get arrested for panhandling. i don't see this law dong anything but irritating the people that get the ticket for caring about a fellow human and their most obvious plight by giving them a dollar for a cheeseburger.

i understand that she wants to get rid of the homeless walking the streets... but she OBVIOUSLY has no clue about how to go about doing that... and so she chooses to do these small little things that probably satisfy the rich snobs in dallas and doesn't do anything to solve the problem... the truth is that the solution is very complicated and won't ever solve the homeless probably 100%

she's not very diplomatic

maybe she wants to improve and expand shelter conditions so that people don't have to sleep in the parking lot of the one downtown, but she's just not saying it

if she seriously has no intention of helping the homeless and treats them like dogs at the pound then i'd have to say she's a real bitch, crooked opponents or not

and upon further reflection, no one says oh, people will give me money if i give in to an addiction or need to eat, so i think i'll be homeless

I wonder how they are going to police it. Are they going to put a cop on the corner with the homeless. At that point the homeless would go somewhere else.

Then if you wanted to enforce it completely that would mean that a cop would have to be on every corner in Dallas.
