it is ironic. Regardless of how you feel, the guy was really looking out for the poor, weak, and downtrodden. He got in the trenches and fought for what he believed for. I really can't think of anyone since that has gone that far for poor people.

Saddest thing is that more than half the idiots that have something with Guevara's face on it don't even know what he stood for....

take it how you want it, but the dude fought on the front lines in cuba, angola, and bolivia, and died fighting. I must have got bad info on the dude, I just read a huge book on him(for some reason my pops gave it to me, i didn't buy because I'm his biggest fan). I;m sure it was communist propaganda

But, that would require you to think what Castro has accomplished was worth fighting for. And if you do, well then, I guess you still get to consider Che a good guy. But, for the life of me I could not understand why anyone would feel Castro has accomplished anything other than the economic, social and spiritual destruction of Cuba. So, if you're for all of that then yeah - hooray - hat's off to Che. what book btw?

i would think that you can always come up with revisionist history about any one. NOne of the articles that Xian listed, had any sources listed along with the articles. One article went on about how Che was pro Soviet, which he was for a short period of time, but later sided more with the Chinese. Obviously, Xian, like all other conseravtives of his ilk, see any other concept of thinking or ideologies, as wrong and idiotic. All I said is that the guy went to the front lines repping his ideology, whether right or wrong, something that very few leaders do. Bush like to go to his ranch, rather that be Commander in Chief in Washington. That to me is a slap in the face of all U.S. troops, not for vacationing because we live in the 21st century with various forms of communication technology. But if we are truly in a state of war(The War on Terrorism), it seems disrespectful to me to be anywhere other than the White House, at least residing and projecting an air of unity with our troops. He only has a couple of years left, then he can chill in Crawford all he wants. The soldiers in Iraq don't get 50 day vacations, why should he?

The horrific effects Castro's Cuba has had on MUSIC alone should be enough to enrage Americas youth, or atleast DDMers. uh, anyone seen Buena Vista Social Club? yea, Cuban musicians robbed of their souls thanks to communism. Don't get me started Last edited by molecule; 08-29-05 at 05:10 PM.

Che did move more Sino - which alienated him from Castro - sure. So, what was the book title and author. What were the accomplishments of Che and Fidel such that they were worth the fighting? And, the competing ideology of communism was worth fighting against. I gather you disagree - please give examlpes of how a communist regime made the state of its infestation better for the affliction?
