With thousands of people pouring in from NO, what do you think it'll do to the crime rate here in Dallas?

Granted, they're not coming in with any weapons or what have you.. but weapons can easily be found. It's going to be intersting to see how all of it pans out.

The criminal element will garner a few new "heads" so to speak, but will not escalate in the manner locals are afraid off. NO offers up the same amount of danger that we do. Remember that Dallas took the title of "murderopolis" from them about two years ago.

We should be sister cities, LOL.

..yeah, but when you have a couple of hard-heads standing face to face, sometimes the outlook isn't so bright.

I don't know how people will take NO residents invading their "territory" sort of speak.

to put it plain and simple. .... there are alot of good honest people that are getting relocated from NOLA. These people are going to look at the help that our communities and the nation will give them with an open heart, and they will stay here temporarily peacfully, even though maybe not happily. Some, I expect will even move here permanently.

But, there are alot of bad people that are getting relocated also. Yes, NOLA is bad with crime, but look how it has shot up (literally) in the last few days. I dont expect it to get as bad as it is down there right now, but I do think that it will rise. In another thread someone pointed out that Baton Rouge is already experiencing an increase in crime.

For better or worse, the city itself will go through some changes taking in that many people at once, that will probably make this their permanent home.

Guys....this is true....I'm in Baton Rouge now and people are constantly pouring in. I've heard that the Astrodome is filled and the Reunion Center in Dallas will be used.

And I hate to bring bad news to you folks.....but yes, there are good people that are coming but there a lot of THUGs too. All I can say is be careful over the next few weeks.

When you have a ton of people with absolutely nothing to lose, a lot of bad things can happen. Be safe and don't take crap from anyone.....I know I'm not.
