It is both a slap in the face and a Godsend at the same time. My family is here now and told of how things were when they worked as part of the local are emergency network. The back-up plans and locations in place would not (and were not) up to par for anything totally devastating.

I woudn't like it so far away, though. At least out of state towards the interior of the States would be a more appealing solution to myself.

It was a great idea... but only if the workers that were sent out of harms way were compensated for the missed hours. Its not like its there fault a damn hurricane hit!

Like, say, an earthquake that kills thousands? Considering the building codes - or lack thereof - in India, this is a bad backup plan. Not to mention, have you tried getting tech support for your computer from an Indian call center? Now imagine trying to decipher that accent while your sister is bleeding to death or a hurricane is bearing down on you(like it did in this case).
