i've heard theories that if the church allowed priests to marry none of the desire for boys would exist...some feel celibacy denies priests' basic human physical needs (as males) and that they should be allowed to interact with women and the boys with girls
but what they are trying to do is teach these priests to be a channel between the people and jesus/god, therefore prohibiting them from ever knowing a woman so their souls stay pure, it has nothing to do with a catholic pedophile organization, lol

I thought that was more of a political interest, from a couple hundred years ago, in not allowing priest to marry more so than a biblical interest.

I think it has more to do with people who have that desire flocking to the Catholic Church and hiding under the veil of priesthood.

wow... you really think so? have you read anything where a convicted priest or an accused priest admitted to that? i find that hard to believe...

i think it's more of a biological issue relating to celibacy... simple as that

to think that you have to be celibate to serve God is RIDICULOUS, let me tell you that right now... that is a purely man made law in the Church... if it is written somewhere in some teaching then i'm sure it's a misinterpretation

well yeah... but there are some rules or laws that man made that you know mesh well with the teachings of whatever teacher you are following whether it be Christ or Muhammad or whomever... and then there are others that you just know are false... like christians believing that homosexuals are going to hell, that is not true and it's a misinterpretation of the teachings that tells them that in my opinion

i'll put it like this... have you ever in your life been in a situation where you thought about something sexually that you knew was wrong? when you were extremely horny or whatever... you ever think about anything that just didn't go well together with what you think would be right or wrong when you weren't horny?

well people do it all the time even if you havent... that is what compells someone to rape someone else... of course rape involves other things as well but that initial feeling is a primary factor in that.... it's that similiar feeling that would compell someone to want to have sex with a child

it's a biological and psychological issue...

i'm not saying that it's not possible that someone who is sick and desires to sleep only with children will seek out the priesthood in order to be able to have access... but if they do that then it's those biological urges that push them in that direction

A good family friend is a gay male and hes a wonderful english teacher at Urseline..(sp?)

people just keep their mouth shut but when it comes to him and his partner attending mass, all kinds of drama..
church in general frustrates me
but im glad whoever came up with it did
sure as hell keeps a lot of people occupied/in check
