Looks like Libby will be the official administration scape goat. Bush and Cheney are already moving away from him and making statements about how "serious" the indictments are. This is after weeks of downplaying it and acting like none of this was any big deal. They have clearly decided that Rove is more important and they are going to shove Libby in front of the buss to take the hit for him.

Oh please. Have you even read the indictment? Your comments are based on assumptions. These are cases in which he was indicted. They have evidence of him lying, and telling Russert, Miller and Cooper that Plame worked for the CIA. He lied to a grand jury. It's not as if he is taking the fall for someone, and it's not as if they are shoving him in front of the bus.

I'm willing to believe that it wasn't just Libby. I don't see how Libby himself(and only him) could be behind this. Perhaps he was doing this for Cheney? The indictment states that Cheney knew of her status as well. If so, Libby will fold, especially if he's looking at 20-30 years. We'll see.

all i know is that this is when it has the potential to start getting real ugly! the prosecutor could have just gone for libby to make him think that everyone else thru him under the bus and is gonna let him swing, then start threatening him with prison, then dangle the plea bargains in front so that he would testify against rove and cheney.... classic tactics.... we will see that is for sure....

Strange, but understandable regarding the political situation. It was stupid, very stupid of him to lie like that. What intrests me is that he wasn't charged with leaking the information. Fitz condemned doing so publicly today, but no charges were made in that area. So strange. Nowhere in the indictment does it say that anyone told Libby that Plame was an undercover employee. It only says they told him she worked there. All Libby received were obstruction of justice, lying to the grand jury, and perjury.

Rush Limbaugh was all over the lack of mention of the original "Plame outing" investigation in the press report, specifically the covert/not covert issue. Of course nobody mentioned that when Clinton got busted over the BJ, nobody was mentioning anything about Whitewater either. These investigations go off on some weird tangents eventually. The GOP dryer has been set to heavy spin today.

Did you see the press conference? Didn't he look a bit shaky? He looked nervous to me.
