about the whole case for war, and how it was a bunch of shite. They had Colin Powell's CIA advisor on, and several others saying how the WMD, the Mobile Labs, and the uranium sales were all bs.

None of the players had political reasons to say this, but I guess since it was on CNN it was BS.

Was the assertion that at the time the evidence was offered it was understood to be false - but represented as true - or just that their intelligence turned out to be wrong?

it doesn't matter xian... makes no difference whether they thought there were wmd's and they were wrong... or whether they knew there were none to begin with and they lied to everyone... the point is that their entire plan going back to the GHWB presidency was to get Saddam out of office... it had nothing to do with wmd's... that was just some smokescreen used that blew up in GWB's face

okay the difference matters... but i'm saying that the end result was going to be the same regardless of the path they took to that result...

they lied.. or they were just wrong... it didn't matter to them.. they just wanted Saddam out

they shouldn't of done what they did regardless and they have hurt this country

the war in iraq is a farce... it is an unwinnable war

no, they didn't win the war... the part of the war that they think they won was an obvious win.. of course we can annihilate an army... Saddam knew that... the whole world knows that... but the insurgency... that is the war that has not been won and the war that cannot be won... the goal of creating a new government in Iraq that is a democracy... the goal that no one had a plan in order to achieve... i doubt that is going to happen... i seriously seriously doubt it is going to happen... and the ONLY way it's going to happen is if we withdraw our troops

Basically they said that they gave them a 'chinese menu' of info, and they picked and chose what they thought would make them look better. The problem was that the info may not have been sourced, just any info from the CIA files. One of the informants was a know liar, and a memo was sent back saying it didn't matter, because they were going to war. It really scrutinzed Colin Powell's speech at the UN. Sometimes they would show Rice, then Powell, then Bush, then Cheney, all saying the same thing about, wmd's, or mobile labs, or how another attack would end up in "a mushroom cloud". It was really interesting, I'm sure they will play it again on CNN, may be you can search for it, it was on last night at 10.
