do not know much about him.... but i saw him on the daily show yesterday and he seems to have a good sense of humor and seems to have the ballz the dems have been lacking for a minute...

but then again i thopught the same thing about howard dean after he showed emotion that he was crucified for.

All I know came from his speeach at the convention. He's very polished and well spoken - he wears the title Senator like it was made for him.

As for being a hope. He's gotten to the top of his game. We may elect Senators to the office of VP but I think Kennedy was the last Senator elected President... not sure who before him.... as a General Rule we elevate Governors.... (GW, Clinton, Carter etc etc)

He's not left wing enough for me, but I guess if I had to choose between him and most of the current party, I would chose to support him.

At the moment, he is too young and too new. there is no way he would get elected within the next 2 presidential election terms, but he is definitely one of the future elites of the Democratic Party. We shall see!

As for Barak - his speaking position was an announcement to the party and the wheels that this guy is the future. And he could very well be. He'll be interesting to watch - I think he has the polish to make everyone feel welcome, wanted and respected.... but we'll see if he does it.
