Look at all the Republicans rolling over on their superiors these days...goes to show something about the ethical nature of politicians who claim to represent moral voters.

From a practical standpoint I understand why they would. They won't ever receive the support of their superiors who have their own careers to worry about, so they might as well make the best of a bad situation.
