I think the majority of immigrants deserve a certain amount of respect for showing up to work today. A Mexican immigrant working today is an American in my book.

Um - that's what people are supposed to do - show up for work. Fail to do so - get fired. That's how employment works. I understand your point but that you're making it suggests just how far we've come as a society in expecting to be taken care of by some one else - be it employer or the government.

An illegal alien, whether he is working a job or a gangster slinging for a living, is still here illegally.

No one questions why they come or is unsympathetic to their desires to do better for their families - but they are breaking the law and they are butting in line ahead of other immigrants who are conducting themselves lawfully and appropriately.

yea, i agree with you completely, but you get my point. It was nice to see most people just doing their jobs. God knows I'd get fired if I just didnt show up.

Im better, thanks for asking. Still have not gotten my teeth fixed however. Having medical insurance these days doesn't mean shit. I have had to have a lawyer involved to get BlueCross to pay up for my medical bills, and they have yet to authorize my dental work now 4 months later. But yea, thats another thread.

Sorry to hear that - fucking lawyers man. Its become fairly standard that insurance companies get the lawyers involved before the insureds do when the claims are big. Anyway - you have my sympathy and shared contempt for the way that system works - speedy recovery and slicing of the red tape.

I wish more people had the intelligence to see things the way that you do. I've been very supportive of all the immigrants here trying to make it, but threatening to try and put a dent in our economy is unacceptable.
