Last week, Delay said that if he has to remain on the ballet then he will give the democrats exactly what they want and re-run for election (that the polls show he will still win despite being a known crook)

You and I have acknowledged this here several times and the Houston case is just another example. The GOP sucks ass in pretty much every way you could care to name. However, the DNC is so horribly divided (that they'd not support a man that they recently ran for #2 speaks volumes - Lieberman) and adrift that they cannot formulate a policy or unified plan (when are they going to release that anyway?) to take the country in the right direction such that it convinces enough people to walk away from the GOP which we all agree is a fucking nightmare. When the DNC (or any party in minority) is that weak it hurts the country because it permits the GOP (or party in majority) to fuck shit up without any semblence of restraint. Hops off soapbox shaking head goin' down that road feeling bad

I don't think the Houstonians(Houstonites?) really give a crap what the Dems have to say, they're voting Republican even if the Dems said they were for the war, banning gay marriage, against flag burning, and hated illegals. I think the Dems are starting to show signs of a cohesive message, but they do have work to do. At least a couple of them(Murtha, Feingold) are starting to show some spine. That's more than we could expect from them a year or two ago.

Feingold - I've always disagreed with him on everything - especially when I lived in WI. But, he says what he means and means what he says and I can at least respect that. anway - I find the DNC's fundamental principles at odds with my own but I still wish they'd get it together and force the GOP to do the same

Murtha may be opportunistic or he may know more than we know, time will tell. His service record with the Marines lends me to believe the latter, but I'll wait until the investigation is complete before making my decision. Nonetheless, at least he's a voice of dissent from the left that might actually have some weight to throw around. It's nice to see the GOP on the defensive for once.
