Add this to the 20+ other ways to hack a voting machine.....Im getting tempted to teach myself some of these tricks for the next election.

And people wonder why i dont believe in federal elections anymore. This is old news actually but of course the main stream media never paid any attention to it during the 2004 election. Im LOLing over the monkey hack article tho.

this isnt exactly time and resources.....there is something of concern when a coke machine has better electronic security in it than the machines that choose the destany of our entire nation.


When something as simple as printing a piece of paper could fix the issue there is no excuse for it.

agreed and 4-7 min to hack something like this screams voter fraud to people with any common sense at all.

it says 4 to 7 minutes to hack it, didn't say anything about the time it took to figure out the hack in the first place... and from the looks of the pictures, they had that shit in pieces...

I remember reading articles back in 2004 about the Diebold machines literally taking 7 min to hack it. That it was extremely easy and had massive amounts of security holes. Stephen Cobert did a hilarious bit on it as well. Either way the main point is the federal elections (especially) should just leave paper trails and should not be done by electronic machines made by companies with CEO's that blatantly contribute to the Bush (or anyone's) campaign.

There are about 50 other hacks floating around the web. One of them was pulled off by placing a monkey in front of a diebold screen who simply poked randomly at it for about 5 minutes...in the process managed to completely alter all of the voting records in the machine.

Seriously think about it, the diebold voting machines are PIII based pc's running Windows XP with a touch screen attached. Its not like this is some sort of custom created hardware that perplexes the masses, pretty much anyone anywhere in the US with IT experiance can walk up and jack with the voting results. Its not rocket science, Im guessing that there are at least 50 people right here on DDM that could firgure it out in 15 minutes or less.
