| CA build's big hospital for mentally ill prisoners problem: no one will work at it
California just built a 1,500 bed hostpital for prison inmates with mental illness. Something that has been a huge issue since the 1980's when Regan cut funding for treatment and dumped the mentally ill in general population. Now that there is finally a safe place to keep them, and treat them they just have one big problem; No one will work at it: Costly hospital sits nearly empty / dilemma in coalinga: New mental facility has space for 1,500 inmates -- but state can't lure professional staff to Central Valley
