I know this is a touchy subject, and I expect atleast one of you to say something rude about this, but here goes:
I am conducting a study to raise awareness of the inadequacies in the Department of Veterans’ Affairs handling of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. PTSD is a mental disorder resulting from exposure to events involving direct or indirect threat of serious bodily harm or death, the events often occur in military combat. I will be using the results in a research paper at Texas Woman’s University. Psychological problems induced from service have been dismissed, ignored and treated poorly throughout U.S. history. Applications for mental illness benefits are often given low priority and many are denied. Due to the life changing negative effects that PTSD can have on a person, including suicidal tendencies, the VA must take action to effectively prevent and treat PTSD. With troops returning home from the current war in the U.S., the need for reform is already getting public notice. I would greatly appreciate your time in answering a few questions. Your valuable information and response will help our country take action by providing Veterans with the care they deserve. Identities will remain anonymous to respect your privacy. You may submit a request for the survey response via e-mail at:
