I've been following this story and continue to have mixed feelings about it. Apparently the couple had been unsuccessfully trying to conceive then the wife began to take fertility drugs. At the time it was discovered she was carrying 6 children, doctors strongly urged her to selectively eliminate 4 of the embryos for her safety and to try to ensure at least two of the fetuses survived. The couple refused at the time for personal and religious reasons, and now 4 of the six have died, with the other 2 still in critical condition. On the one hand, I could see what an agonizing choice it would have to be to have 4 healthy embryos sucked out of your body, especially if your beliefs tell you that life starts at conception and that these children were all a gift from God (despite the fact you took fertility drugs to conceive them), but now it looks like all 6 may be lost because of their refusal to act early. It's a very tragic situation, no matter how you look at it. A lot of guilt involved either way.
