Major phone companies are working on a proposal to reduce their own tax burdens by shifting the current Universal Service Fund (USF) to a flat-fee approach. This could increase telephone costs by 1000% for millions of consumers -- like you -- especially Americans with limited, fixed and low incomes.

The Keep USF Fair Coalition is working to stop these phone companies and their anti-consumer agenda, and we need your help. Fill out the form to the right to tell Congress and the FCC that a flat-fee approach is the wrong approach for the consumers they represent and forward this action to your friends.

I make long distant calls all the time, but it is included in my Sprint plan (lol@ that shit about customers who call customer service getting drop AND if they have any questions to call customer service!) so - I really don't understand the details.

dude, that's not going to happen. and anytime i've paid a flat fee for a metro land line it's actually saved me money.

I got a note from T-Mobile this week that the USF actually decreased effective July 1 from 5% to 4.4%.
