i knew it was over as soon as it was only hillary and obama left.. i imediately assumed that would drive a fork between the party.

all they fuckin had to do was put john edwards in and poof.. election won. u'd think they'd have figured it out with all this time to plan on how to take back power.. but nah, once a sucker always a sucker i guess.

I think Obama has more of a shot of beating McCain than Hillary, but he'd have to pack his potential cabinet with some real power players with a lot of experience. And, of course, he'd have to pick a very experienced and likable VP. I think Hillary's idiocy has done a lot to damage the democratic party in the primaries, but I don't necessarily think it's too late to turn it around. It does suck that all of this is going to make this race a lot closer than I'm comfortable with, assuming Obama gets the nomination. If Hillary gets it, McCain will almost assuredly win.

As a general matter Presidential candidates don't name their cabinet during the race as incentive to voters.

This race has varied from the norm in many respects so far. Although he can't officially name who his cabinet would be, it certainly wouldn't hurt for him to start creating some buzz once he's got the nomination.

There are a wide variety of reasons that is not going to happen... not insignificant is the fact that a lot of those people already have jobs mand their employers might not look to kindly on them being announced as some one elses employee.

I hate to admit it, but yeah, Team Democrat has helped to sink its own ship before it even left the harbor.

Once we figure out who is getting the backing, it may be too late to remotely salvage American faith in the winner due to the inside mudslinging that has occurred.

I like and back Obama and can only hope to see something decent overall occur for America with its ultimate Presidential elect.

There's a big difference between actually announcing something and creating a buzz around something. The second can actually be more effective, and Obama is a very smart man with a rock solid campaign staff.

Well, If I can have a law partner brining in $50M per year or lose hom to a cabinet post I think I'd take the money. I have a little of insider knowledge about this shit and some partners get pissed to lose cash cows... believe that.

Sure it is effective... that's why they're called balloons... you let them go, watch which way the wind blows and react accordingly. That's differeent from naming cabinet heads.

I didn't change what I said one bit. Yes, he would have to pack his cabinet with experienced staff. No, he could not officially announce any of them. Yes, it would be very smart for him to create buzz around the proper names. The number one issue working against him is his lack of experience. You better believe his staff is working on ways to combat that.
