McCain's First Wife

Apparently John McCain ditched his first wife and three kids after she was disfigured in a car accident. Both Ronald Regan and Ross Perot thought he was a total shithead over it. So much for his claims of integrity and honor. It's a shame the conservative media in this country is too busy giving handjobs on the Straight Talk Express to report on things like this.

Here's the article:

is that where we're going?

Wright, Pfleger, Rezko, Ayres and Dorn... so far.....?

If you want to keep this on the candidates records and resumes... lets do... if you want to bring up their aquainences and skeletons... Obama seems to have accumulated a lot more in an awfully shorter period of time.

This load of shit is exactly what I'm talking about when I say that when you elevate shit to the level of substance you make substance shit.

Let's get back to arguing about their policy positions.... please!

Really? Shall we bring up the S&L scandal from the 80s and see who McCain's buddies were in that?

And for someone who was so keen to discuss Jeremiah Wright ad nauseum on here, you seem awfully keen not to discuss McCain's questionable acquaintances now.

He's the only Republican in that group too. He really knows how to reach across the aisle for that cash. It's an impressive display of bipartisan corruption. Way to go McBush!

I don't think McCain has a very high tolerance for tore up women. Look at his current piece of ace. He's a war hero in the U.S. Senate. I think he's earned the right to be shallow.

Like you even know what the fuck happened? He could have left for a trillion reasons. Who are any of you guys to judge why somebody leaves their wife? Maybe she went from being a massive cunt, to a massive disfigured cunt. He needs to stay with her even MORE just because she became his own personal Scarface? Please.

And I know that's supreme devil's advocating right there, but, seriously.

They have three kids together. Anyway, if he just wanted a divorce that would be one thing. It was the way he went about it, and the fact that he publicly ran around on her for years. The lack of respect there speaks very ill of him. Hell, at least Bill Clinton had the decency to try and be discreet about the matter.

It will be interesting to see how this story plays with Hillary's middle aged female supporters. Something tells me that come November, they won't be able to bring themselves to vote for McCain.

I think his female support will pretty much evaporate once they learn about his interest in overturning Roe v. Wade & banning abortions at the state level. Plus, if HRC campaigns for Obama even half as hard as she says she will, McCain's going to lose most of his women voters.

I'm not exactly middle aged, but this story has nothing to do with why I'm not voting for McCain. Something's gotta be said for party loyalty.

Btw Dionysis - not every woman is pro-abortion.

Saying every woman is pro-abortion is like me saying all men are pro-abortion.

Understood, but a lot of voters - male and female - are under this false impression that McCain's a moderate Republican and are usually surprised when they find out the things he actually stands for. Being pro-life and openly wanting abortion to be banned at the state level isn't exactly moderate.

It's funny how when the Democratic party dominated national politics, the Republicans were all about state's rights. As soon as they got their turn at the wheel, though, that core portion of their ideology went by the wayside. Isn't the whole point of integrity to do things you believe in, even when it's not convenient?

I think you missed my point - the whole issue of a husband leaving his wife for a younger, more attractive woman plays really badly with Hillary's core group of supporters. When I see the venom with which my Mom and her friends talk about a man they know who did just that, I can't help but see it play out badly for McCain. It's a fundamental fear of most women as they grow older and lose their looks, and I think the fact that he's guilty of it will make him unsupportable for a lot of voters.
