Is servant a PC term? It doesn't seem that way to me in the modern age. Maybe maid or cleaning lady. Are you talking about illegal mexicans? Basically those people are kind of screwed because if they are mistreated and go to the police they still get deported. Not that I feel sorry for them. The problem is the people employing them, thats fucked up.

No, they're filipinos, and my dad lives there in the Philipinnes. He has one watch over his son, one cook and clean, and another to run errands and do maintenace or whatever. He pays some of them cash, and pays their tuition some times.. it's really super common to have that over there. Working for the white man, pays really really really really well, since it costs so little to live there. But it's not like they're his "slaves" or anything. ![]() It's funny, the word they all use there, instead of saying "guy" or "dude" or "hey buddy" is "DONG". So all day every day you hear people screaming "Dong!!!" FIrst day I was there, it was a very "wtf" moment. lol.

No, I specifically asked my dad why he was saying "Dong!" out the window of our car when he wanted to buy some mangos and bottles of waters from the little boy children pesants walking in the middle of the road... lol. And he said, that's the slang for "Hey, guy." I chuckled.

I think indentured servitude is the preferred nomenclature. And you know if a minority(even though us whiteys are becomming the minority every day in america) could have a slave... eh hem indentured servant they would. Screw race all together, who wouldn't want someone to do their dirty work? I blame the media for putting it all on white people. Shit it's been 400+ years let us off the hook already!

I thought indentured servitude was like if your job was to dig a ditch, but you didn't have a shovel, you could rent one from your boss. Your job pays 10$ and renting the shovel costs 9$. Basically the cost of doing your job is as much or more than what you get paid for the job. Which is pretty much most of lower class america, except welfare people. Its a pretty fine line between that an people that just live beyond thier means. Damn I want to be a white slave. It sounds like it pays better than my current job. Maybe I would even get a woman that would make me "service" her as part of the job. |

----------- Now.... A servant is not fucking slavery. I dunno why people are confusing it. Slavery normally involves harsh treatment of the individual and they have no rights and are forced to do whatever work the owner sees fit. Paying someone to be a nanny and clean your house is not slavery. Locking them up in a room and beating them is. Obviously a slave can fill a servant ROLE, but they are still a slave doing the job they are forced to do. | |

if you look at the definition of slave, not being paid at all is not a requirment, as long as a person has to work very hard for a master with out proper payment of such work is a slave...so ie. share croppers and indentured servants= slave in the historical sense a person who is legal property of another and is forced to obey them (indentured servitude) and the word servitude comes from service..which comes from latin slavus.
