HHS moves to define contraceptives as abortion

there's so many things wrong with this idea that i dont even know where to begin.

life begins at conception? this is the governments own definition and it really shouldn't be up to them to decide in the first place. if contraceptives can be deemed as abortions then so can male masturbation, menstruation and the 'rhythm method'. technically a sperm is a living thing, so with this logic, everytime you pull out and give your girl a shot of baby batter in the face, apparently, you're committing abortion. i mean, come on.

and what about people who use birth control as a way to regulate their periods due to ovarian cysts and endometriosis? they want to lower the rate of abortion, yet taking away the opportunity for low income families to have access to free birth control from clinics like planned parenthood etc would just result in a higher rate of abortion.

i also find it a little convenient that this new proposal "requires all recipients of aid under federal health programs to certify that they will not refuse to hire nurses and other providers who object to abortion." why was this an important statement? so if a pharmacists doesn't believe in morning after pills and birth control, he could possibly refuse to provide it? bullshit. that's like a nurse or doctor refusing to give a dying patient a blood transfusion because their religion is against it. can you imagine what people would say if a doctor did that? all hell would break loose. but if a woman doesn't want children, she's a murderous monster. fucking. bullshit.

I would like to open an abortion themepark and have the entrance be a pair of crying angels with all sorts of abortion themed roller coasters, carnival foods, games, and of course several abortion clinics with observation windows in them so everyone can join in the fun.

Scientifically speaking life does, in fact, begin at conception. The process creates a unique but developmentally imature human being.

If life does not begin at this point when the new human comes into existence... then when does life begin?

No. It cannot. It cannot because a sperm or egg on its own cannot grow into an adult human. An embryo however can grow into an adult provided it is permitted to do so.

This argument is not very good. A sperm is a part of the father. The egg is a part of the mother. The embryo is a unique individual human that can grow into an adult. An egg or a sperm cannot.

anyway.... like I said trying to regulate birthcontrol pills violates Griswold so don't get your panties in a bunch.

A form of birth control that kills an embryo or prevents it from embedding in the uterine wall is an abortive form of birth control by definition. That's not really subject to debate. It kills an embryo... ie aborts it. The question is whether it is legally permissible to use the method. I belive it is, had been and will continue to be so. I don't support it morally but I do legally. Like I said above, Griswold has spoken on this issue. These are not the droids you're looking for.
