And to clarify if we never went to Iraq or Afghanistan we would handle this the exact same way. exactly, they are (along with 5 Presidents of other nearby states who flew to Tblisi) in essence hostage/deterrents. They are insufficient to do anything substantive or meaningful - they are sufficient to demand a reaction if Russia fucks with them
