I made no claim as to what he was. I said he was not an idiot. You then made the leap to genius. You said he was no genius. I didn't agree with you I said I never made the claim that he was a genius. The "proud to be an American" soundbyte...here we go...okay, I'll go on record here saying this...as an American born and raised in the birthplace of our nation and has read more than his fair share about how this nation was built as well as the concept of what its laws and policies are based on....I haven't been too proud of how our country has been represented and conducted itself in the past 8 years...

It's an insult to have a man such as George W. Bush speaking for all of us as a country. That person does not share my interests nor does he share the interests of those I value or are close to me even remotely. He is neither in touch with his constituents nor is he willing to be. His party is out of touch with our nation's citizens esp. its youth to whom they will eventually pass the torch of leadership in time.

It is insulting to me that many of my fellow Americans elected and re-elected such a smug, unapproachable elitist in the first place...whose friends are distiguished between the "haves" and "the have-mores"....who was handed a life of privilage and has never had to experience working his ass off for a buck...or seeing his parents do that and taking value in hard work. That's what the American dream is all about, right? Working to achieve your dreams with everything you have.

Granted, McCain served his country distinctively and made great sacrifices himself. But what saddens his approach is the fact that he attaches himself with a party and a President who doesn't truly value such things at all. Plus, he too is out of sync and out of touch.

"I don't know much about the economy"....BAD MOVE, BUDDY! Bad move publicly saying that. that shit's sounds scary...if you don't know, find out as much as you can...and get back to us on that, mmmkay?....because we need all the help we can get to fix it...like yesterday, bro...YESTERDAY!

So getting back to my point, I can see how that slipped out and can be completely taken out of context. Hell, the very possibility of having Obama as president is exciting and galvanizing. It's monumentous and historical. It's the possibility of change enbodied in one person as well as in his promised approach. The world community is eating this up. they love him...and that's what we need....a man who'll bring the eyes of the world back to us lovingly.

Bush ruined that with all of his smug, dip-shit yahoo, "I'm an American who's right and you're wrong so fuck off" attitude. People don't like our government nowadays overseas...and I don't fuckin' blame them one bit.

...Proud to be American...I'm trying my hardest. I really, really am...I'm proud of what was written on paper back in my hometown when we put this all together as a nation...the principles...and the ideals...But it's hard to be proud when we continue to elect leaders that don't make us proud representing us....

but from the looks of Obama's tax plan... he will be kicking us while we are down. BIG time. i'm all about change and hate the way our government has been run. i'm for a lot of things that obama stands for... A LOT. but taking my money to pay for lazy shit-for-brain people that can't even wipe their own ass without assistance is fucking bullshit. and now we have to pay for more assistance to them??? that kinda irks the shit out of me. quit raping the productive members of society and get the losers on their feet in other ways than handing them everything that we have to pay for. i'm on the fence right now about a lot of this.. but the one thing that affects me personally is taking more of my hard earned money away from me. i pay enough in taxes already. fuck them. they don't need any more of my share. i pay way more than what i expect from my government and they can take a flying fuck if the democrats are going to start taking more. i made a proper investment in my house. if i want to sell it i don't need to be paying almost 30% in cap gains to pay some fucking lazy cum guzzling dredge on society's health insurance. think about that bullshit for a while and ponder it. a fucking great place this country will BE headed.

sales of primary residences are exempted as long as you roll the cash over into another home of equal value... now, this kinda requires you to keep rolling over into more and more expensive homes but you can protect your equity from tax in most circumstances. See §1031 of the IRC.

Still, raising our cap gains tax while our competitors have discovered the way to grow tax revenues and healthy businesses is to cut the cap gains coupled with his stupid "windfall tax" on oil is pretty good evidence that he's clueless on the economy.

so if for some reason we needed to downsize (poor economy, making less money, whatever), our equity would be totally gone to pay these cap gains??? that's ossum. what about my parents when they retire? they will sell one of their houses and move to the small town one. that entire sale would be regarded as a cap gain and they could lose hundreds of thousands of dollars they counted on for retirement. more ossum sauce. i hope i'm reading that stuff wrong. halp xian!!!

I'll be that whore since you'll be paying my insurance. I would gladly buy my own if my employer offered me cheap insurance but they don't.
