McCain's health care adviser declares "There are no uninsured Americans"

In the Dallas morning news this morning they ran an interview with John Goodman the man who crafted John McCains "health care reform" policy.
The bottom line is this: McCain's "health care reform" proposal was developed by someone who doesn't think there is any problem with people not being able to get health care. In his world, everything is hunky dory and the only thing that reform needs to do is to lower costs.

The following is from yesterday's Dallas Morning News

But the numbers are misleading, said John Goodman, president of the National Center for Policy Analysis, a right-leaning Dallas-based think tank. Mr. Goodman, who crafted Sen. John McCain's health care policy, said anyone with access to an emergency room effectively has insurance, albeit the government acts as the payer of last resort. (Hospital emergency rooms by law cannot turn away a patient in need of immediate care.)
"So I have a solution. And it will cost not one thin dime," Mr. Goodman said. "The next president of the United States should sign an executive order requiring the Census Bureau to cease and desist from describing any American – even illegal aliens – as uninsured. Instead, the bureau should categorize people according to the likely source of payment should they need care.

I'm gainfully employed and can't get healthcare.
(thanks for not sending me my packet in time to enroll for my benefits when i first started, company that i work for...!)

And yeah, I can go to Parkland and make them treat me without payment upfront - but who's going to pay the $1800 I owe them (because I don't have insurance and couldn't just go pay a $100 copay) for letting me pee in a cup and them telling me I had a bladder infection and was pissing blood, (which I already knew).

Or what about my dad who died 4 months after being diagnosed with cancer because he didn't have access to the better oncology programs who could have successfully extended his life? The hospital put him on oxygen, gave him some morphine pills, and sent him home to die.

This country needs some fucking answers. And I doubt anyone running for office will give them to us.

A buddy of mine did that.... here in Dallas. No bill.

Testicular cancer - probably easier to deal w/ than any number of other varieties though.
