This is the fundimental point where our government goes wrong. Riders on bills. I think all unrelated issues should be voted on separately.

this is a good thing but stupid to tack on to the bailout.
Energy credit for geothermal heat pump systems.

Shit would take longer to get done than it already does if that was the case.

They'd still be voting on shit from 1980.

What better to get the GOP base rallied behind a bill than a rider to give tax breaks to NASCAR.

The DNC needs to get the DNC on board for the bill to pass

Marketwatch.com said it is related to the new NASCAR track that the Govenor of West Virginia has been trying to build in Charleston.

As does the GOP, despite every top Republican in the nation screaming and yelling about how important the bill was the entire party just gave the leadership the finger and voted no anyway. Honestly the GOP voting down the bill last time kinda gave me some hope for the party.....its almost like they remembered what the party platform was for a few minutes.

The GOP cannot prevent the bill from passing. They can help get it passed but the DNC only needs to get their own party on board to pass the bill. Its a DNC controlled congress any and all blame/credit for this rests with the Democrats not the Republicans.
