![]() | William Ayers on Good Morning America
anyone watch that this morning? i think the guy is right on... we certainly could use many more like him in this country. he stated the same thing he has in his books: we didn't do enough to oppose the govts actions, specifically the war in Vietnam the route we took crossed all kinds of lines... i don't defend the route... but given the context of what was going on we did what we could to try to end the wrongful actions of our govt he doesn't support or encourage violence he urges everyone to get involved and don't simply say you oppose the war in Iraq but actually do something about it it should come as no surprise that i like what William Ayers has to say... i also liked reading about the history of John Brown and what he did... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Brown_(abolitionist) |

he was out there doing what they could to try to end the injustice that the U.S. Govt was perpetrating it's called being an activist... seeing what is wrong and trying to right it. he doesn't defend the route they took... and at the same time he says they should've done a lot more. |

i think it was such a crazy time in the u.s. and such a terribly corrupt time in our gov't that i'm proud that someone stood up and made the gov't know that when pushed into the corner that we will(the citizenry) fight back. regardless of the violence or death, liberty ain't easy. |

Civilized people can have civilized disagreements and come to civilized resolutions. The war did not end as a result of ANY of the weathermen's violence. It was merely violence - it accomplished nothing. The war ended because the voters supported disengagement. One can challenge that status quo without fire bombing a judge's house... twice... can't one? Or is it close minded to regard such attempts to kill a judge as quite rude? Can one challenge the status quo without bombing police stations? Or is it close minded thinking that was over the top? Ayres was a fucking criminal who used violence as a means to accomplish his ends. Nice to know he now renounces violence.... but also points out that they didn't do enough.

you come across as very naive xian when you speak about how the war ended... because voters supported disengagement. the American people supported disengagement long before the govt decided to end the war. the American people are against the war in Iraq and it's still going on. the govt had to lie to us to get the support they needed for this war as well. it's pretty lol hearing you talking about what's needed to be an anti-war activist considering you haven't done shit to end this war and all i've heard you do is defend the govt. Ayers admits the Weather Underground crossed legal barriers with it's actions... and it's what they felt was necessary to bring attention and to try to end the actions the govt was taking that were WORSE than anything they could do as a group. i know you don't get it. it's okay. you're not the activist type... you defend the status quo, you just want to get yours and live your life. that's not the way some of us want to live. |

So, murder, arson, bombing and bank robbery ARE a legitimate means to an end? Too bad none of those means were even remotely effective at accomplishing them. I'm not the bank robbing, murdering, arsonist bombing type... no... no I am not nor do I regard such activity as a challenge to the status quo. I regard such activity the territory of the felon.

I don't like violence. I think I'm going to go kill people to open the eyes of murderers. Sounds like a solid plan. WHO IS WITH ME!?!?! Same goes for rape too. Maybe I should go on a raping spree. That'll get the point across.

![]() | you left off bomb police stations and the pentagon as well as fire bomb a judge's house... twice.. oh, and rob banks too... that's civil disobedience at its finest and purest form. Nothing like trying to profit from your protest huh?

I was going to rob old ladies and maybe push a few down a staircase in protest of how the elderly are treated. Then kick a puppy to protest animal cruelty.
