The quick gist of it all is this, Brandon:

Cystic Fibrosis supposedly only affects Caucasians and Sickle Cell normally strikes only people of my color. In order to not be perceived as funding one over the other, this was dropped. If we can't fund them all, then no one is supposedly deserving of support.

Now to Micah's comment: It is true that no one should be able to demand how you spend your monies, but do we just stop giving out of fear of being labeled one way or another now?

And for all we know, they fund Sickle Cell. It's not mentioned in the article and I only referenced it in my original post because if they had canned Sickle Cell funding, it would be all over the papers.
