Main Reason (short form): 6 years of seeing what US government run health care is like.

key being U.S. govt because there are plenty of citizens around the world that like their universal healthcare

i can't say if i'm for or against it because i dont understand it well enough right now. i'm for everyone being able to have healthcare... what the best way to make that happen in our current system i dont know.

Against it in the general sense but willing to consider programs and policies that accomplish the goal of creating better availability (access/price) without fucking quality. I suspect very difficult to do but possible.

Kind of have a similar outlook. I'm for but as for most social programs I feel the intelligence and self reliance of the populace needs to reflects what benefits it receives.

You'll find in European countries where universal health care is successful that average income and education exceeds expectations. There's definitely a strong correlation between the two.

Then again I'm also of the opinion that if we were to guarantee certain necessities for the common man it leaves them with the time to pursue interests outside of basic survival.
