they say they couldn't renegotiate the bonus plan to keep the best and brightest, if you nearly ruin the company I doubt you are very bright. I say they offer them a significant reduction in bonus and if they don't then the irs will tell them to release their sphincter and possibly go to federal pound me in the ass prison.

According that article in NYT, we own almost 80% of AIG now, so how come we are ASKING them to renegotiate bonus' that are some really bad financial management? We should be cleaning house. I can't believe contracts with such huge bonus structures have no non-performance clauses. I think AIG's lawyers are full of shit and ours are corrupt.

So if they aren't able to renegotiate, why can't we force AIG to declare bankruptcy in order to re-negotiate the bonuses of the folks who aren't bringing in revenue?

I can understand if you're in a revenue generating position the bonus is a good thing, but if you're one of the exec who helped cause all this mess - you shouldn't be getting a bonus.
