![]() | If you could use biodegradeable oil in your car would you?
New company I found recently that produces just that. http://www.getg.com/index.php Right now they only have 5W-30 out and a few oils for 2-cycle engines(lawn equipment & jetskis), but I think this is pretty damn cool. If they come out with the oil weight that my car uses I'd definitely pick it up. Also a few of other "green" household, and car cleaning products on their site.. So would you use this "green" oil? |

Actually they've got a variety of weights out there, and they're going to be the oil used in the support vehicles for the American Le Mans series.

From the looks of their press releases I thought the only one they had for automobiles was 5W-30, though on their products page it shows a few more: http://www.getg.com/products/product...=1&ProductID=1 guess i'll have to go to Home Depot and see what they have on the shelves. | |

It got the certification too, so I'm interested to see how it does in the real world over the next couple of years.

Very cool, I'd be down to use them. If it can withstand the punishment that LeMans cars get, then I am in.

Regular motor oil and synthetic can be recycled. As far as biodegradeable oil goes, isn't the whole point of it preventing engine wear being that it doesn't degrade easily. I'm just guessing, but wouldn't a biodegradeable oil be more likely to break down under the heat and pressure of an engine?
