Well, to be fair, I wouldn't think the motives of a culture that is vastly technologically superior to us (and most likely socially superior to us in the same magnitude) would be something that we could easily wrap our heads around. Perhaps they're just observing us and have no interest or motive to dominate or destroy us. Perhaps they're trying to help us along. Maybe it's all in our minds and is some form of primordial, archetypal representation of neurochemical phenomena that we don't understand yet. Who knows? Nobody. I don't, and the more face time I have with the universe the more it shows me how mysterious it really is.

I think if the answer is ever revealed to us, providing it's not all a bunch of bullshit or isn't all in our heads, it will be based on a decision that rests in hands other than our own.

as far as aliens go, and why they would be here, my guess is sheer curiosity.

the reporter that broke bob lazar's story actually found a shred of evidence to back up his claim to be a scientist at area 51. his name appeared on a phone list after they claimed he never worked there. further, he's pictured as a physicist working on a rocket car at one point. the fact is that he DID work there. there being a place that the govt to this day denies even exists after we all know there is photographic evidence that there is a huge base that has expanded vastly since the 50's at groom lake. lazar claimed that the reverse engineering he was working on was centered around an element not of this earth that ultimately powered alien craft we have recovered.

i didnt go through every video posted, but just tonight i saw video of something above Area 51 dive at an estimated rate of 3100 mph. and that was no meteorite or shooting star.

mike it's interesting you saw the port st lucie lights that's one of the more consistent areas of UFO sightings. there are claims that an underwater base exists in that area which some claim could be responsible for the strange phenomena around the bermuda triangle.

it's a big universe, we're a speck on an extremely large map. you've gotta be insane to assume we're the only intelligent life out there.

or maybe I'M insane! :P

I've seen the same...very distant-looking, akin to the size of a star, but while vacationing in Sedona, AZ in 2005, I saw such an object make sharp lateral movements just as you describe.

I think the occurances of these sightings happen WAY to much to be considered alien spacecraft.

Trust me, I want there to be alien spacecraft zipping around our skies more than anyone else (I've even seen shit happen once in the sky that I can't explain), but, I think we need to chalk a lot of these "zipping lights" up as some sort of natural phenomena.

The Earth is an amazing conductor of electricity (refer to every electrical device that has a ground "ie. pulling electrons from the ground or earth"), so I'm pretty sure there's tons of electrical phenomena that we have yet to fully understand.
