I'd call abortion an abortion and murder a murder.

Death caused by a human is a homicide.... but not necessarily a crime.

Of the homicide crimes chargeable only one of them is murder. The rest are something less than murder.

Abortion is legal therefore by definition not murder.

Don't get me wrong... I think abortion is immoral under many circumstances but that doesn't make it a crime.

Okay...yes, you had mentioned "immoral" previously, which obviously applies to the practice. Still, and I know you might disagree considering your legal background, but sometimes it's important to think more abstractly on certain topics...since mankind has been in existence long before the decision of Roe v. Wade some 40 odd years ago.

Well, there's also the whole idea of conscientious objection of that ruling based on the fact that a life is being snuffed out in the practice of the procedure. Whether or not that's a practice as codified into law by the Supreme Court does not seem overly important since the end result is the same (I admit if one wants to be the most effective in overturning or amending that law, its importance can't be overemphasized...since violence only breeds contempt). It comes down to the idea that not all laws are just.

Let me explain why it is of paramount importance...

i think abortion is wrong and every person that is involved will experience a life long regret.But at tha same time if my wife or daughter got raped and became pregnant, i wouldnt want it to be illegal or them be labeled a murder for not wanting to have the baby because of that. So i prefer tha law as it is.
