No we were all army guys. I know a lot of guys who have gone back as a contractor as well.

Jeez, I can't believe this is even an issue. How do you suggest slowing illegal immigration? -or are you one of those who believes in "no borders", just let everyone be "FREE LIKE A BIRD".

1) If (eventually) the fence goes from ocean to ocean, how will you get around it.
2) If a fence is built, don't you think it will take less people to watch it?
3) If someone makes a hole in it, don't you think it would be easier to watch the new hole in the wall than covering thousands of miles of open territory?

I've got 2 cousins (both in Iraq), another leaving for his first tour in Afghanistan this December, another cousin's husband has completely reenlisted to go for his 5th tour at the age of 28, half my friends I grew up with have been (serveral times), my grandfather served in the Marines and still wears his cover, my father in law was an F-15 pilot who flew most of his missions during Desert Storm, and my father searved as a Navy Gunner during the last few tid-bits of Vietnam.

And my best friend growing up was an army sergeant who caught a bullet ricochet just under his left ear... and it only needed stiches.

Even though have never served, I have a great pride for those who have and I am very greatful.

Just thought I'd throw the rest of you here some props as well!

Its easier to go through a door than around, over, under or through a wall. Even a conservative can figure that out.

You seem to suggest that if it is not 100% effective it is worthless. Let me suggest that using that logic we should eliminate all criminal laws and punishments... people keep committing crimes so why bother making it harder to get away with it huh?

Oh, ever heard of cameras? We don't need a sentry every 100 yards but a camera, motion sensors etc.
