Troops leaving Iraq.
Since the major news outlets haven't bothered to cover it. Today was the deadline for our troops to pull out of the major cities and towns in Iraq. Hope they can handle the shit on their own.

I'm sure the General is a team player and would put on a good face to the press if Patreus told him he had to. I hope that isn't what happened. I hope the Iraqis can handle this themselves.

If it were me I'd have preferred a much slower draw down like we did in Germany and Korea. Our resolve to stay is the deterrent to assholes who want to blow shit up.

I may be just not paying enough attention, but it has been all over the news today....but no build up to the festivities today....I am quite liberal, but why has the media not been hyped about the recent news? I had to dig deep into Google to understand what is really going on today and what led up to it....why has there been no coverage?
