$1000 yearly fine for anyone who doesn't tow the line, or a forced healthcare tax in other words. Obviously, they're counting on the po' folks to help finance this bill, since many still won't be able to afford it. Lots of missing details of course, as per usual with this "transparent and open" administration.

Hmmmm... So, how is this supposed to provide healthcare for the poor? If they aren't working and they don't pay for it now... When this bill passes, they will also get fined for not carrying the insurance. ~/confused

Called "shared responsibility payments," the fines would offset at least half the cost of basic medical coverage, according to the legislation. The goal is to nudge people to sign up for coverage when they are healthy, not wait until they get sick.

Ummm, these are two of the five absolute LAST people on earth that I would want in control of my healthcare (the other 3: Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer and Barney Frank!)
