Ya I paid up front. With money I borrowed and took 15 years to pay off. I think my Mom actually applied for welfare at one time in the early eighties. And no she didnt like it at all and got off as soon as she could. Which is what was mentioned in general by Tricky.

^^a classic case of the end justifying the means. the market and economy were negatively affected by a greedy few at fanny may/freddy mac and co, (the fed. govt. ties are astounding for these guys, when it all went belly-up who was protected). But I digress..

the focus is economy. wall street broke it, (w/ government encouragement i.m.o) why? so the government could fix it.. gaining control. who can get away w/ this easier? democrats (allthough on the hill both parties are essentially the same) what should of happened? the market would of corrected itself w/ minimal enforcement of allready existing oversight policy.
so yea, raise taxes, establish more programs, shift the mental paradigm Obama to where we need your policy more and more, every day. Because hey, you know whats best for us, right? right? what crap.

military- hate to say it but they have no business calling up reserve troops in place of active duty forces in iraq and afghanistan

FBI- enforcer of the b.s. patriot act

DOE- don't get me started on these guys, complete mismanagement of our natural resources.. domestic oil- good, more refining capacity- o.k., nuclear power construction- freaking approve it.. they get it, they just can't approve of it, the ingrates

FDIC- established by Roosevelt as a *Temporary* program, (gov't programs NEVER go away) to insure selected banks.. has recently been granted authority to regulate all commercial banks.. the insuring part is pretty, the broad regulation of loan approval and such, not so much.

Active duty forces need to rotate back once in a while. Being deployed almost constantly during an enlistment can be tiresome. Not utilizing a large % of your standing forces that are trained, mostly equipped, and ready to do the job is stupid.

are you sure that reserves are not being rotated in for active duty? not reserves for reserves? my perception was the latter.. something having to due that washington would rather employ more reservists in the military than active duty personnell in general, because its cheaper to go the reserve way than to use full-time soldiers.. I just have a problem w/that concept, because it doesn't seem quite right to cause more part-time soldiers to fill in the gaps because the legislative branch does not want to properly fund an adequate level, full-time troop force for the dod. I guess my problem is not with the D.O.D, per-se, its how they are funded and handled by every administration recently outside of Regan.

Of course reservists are being rotated in for active duty. Also, the number of people on active duty is far greater than the number of reservists. Just looking at the Marines alone, there's 201,000 active and about 40,000 reservists according to Wiki.

It's not that they only want reservists to save money. Hell, up until last year, they couldn't find enough people to fill all of the active duty spots they had open. And again, there's absolutely nothing wrong with sending reservists to deployments. They all knew what they signed up for.
