I've pointed this out in other threads but I'll do it again... recent generic balloting has shown the dems to have lost significant ground. In two recent polls; the GOP actually won one and was within a point or two on the other. This is fairly amazing, the GOP hasn't so much gained as much as the DNC has disastrously lost support. A party with overwhelming majorities in the Senate and House as well as possession of the Executive has failed to produce anything other than a "stimulus" bill that has, by their own admission, failed to stimulate and a bloated budget. None of their featured legislation touted in campaigns has been signed into law. Cap and Trade made it through the house but it's not going to get out of committee in the Senate. Obamacare is collapsing around the dems ears. And you talk about a lady from Alaska that no one is really listening too? If you're offering advice on how not to fuck up you should be offering it to the Dems right now. If current trends continue they'll lose their significant majorities and may even have their control threatened.

i still dont know why anyone is questioning Palin's baby at 43. Im NOT saying she should have had an abortion or anything like that, but it does seem highly irresponsible, knowing that such a high rate of children born to women after 40 have DS.

and... as I have said in several of my posts on the issue, it's currently a very interesting trend. But the polling numbers that'll matter are next November's vote tally.

im not saying that, im just saying its unresponsible by the standards of educated, intelligent women to not take birth control or have your tubes tied if you are going to be sexually active after 40. what people do in their private life is their own business, but what would be the reasoning, esp, when you have taken a role in gov't?

I have no affection for the lady and wish she'd stay out of the public eye. But the degree of antipathy some hold for her suggests strongly that she's probably doing something right for a significant cross-section of voters. Like you said, time will tell.

Only, if you were dead broke(not an issue, those spots dont pay anymore than something you could do in the private sector), or were desperate to have a child(she already had some) would it make any sense. Being safer and facing the facts doesn't mean most women would not opt to have children in their 40s.

Having a high stress job, with considerable travelling obligations and time constraints combined with having kids, says more big city woman, hell bent on having her career, than the soccer mom that wants to chill with the family. Hell, maybe thats why she quit. (which is, in turn, not all that responsible to the people that voted for her)
