i know plenty of people who get by on much less. a friend of mine is a vp and makes around 250k. has his own loft that he owns on the lower east side. travels a lot and only wears the flyest threads. she doesnt need a 2.5MM/4000 square foot home.

NY(NYC) NJ area is REALLY expensive and to "adjust" down blows since there's a HUGE disparity in neighborhoods and quality of living.

so lets say that she needs 100k to live comfortably on her own. 3 kids cost you upwards of 200k a year now? come on audri, you live on a lot less. i know you dont live in nyc, but you dont need to spend 2.5MM for 4000sqft do you? there are plenty of homes in NJ for 650k that will afford the same room for 3 people. this is just dumb.

Look, the whole point of child support is to help the children maintain the lifestyle they were leading before the divorce. $300,000 sounds like a lot of money, but not if you consider how much the dad was probably bringing in. The woman came from money even as a kid. I am not just defending her because she has 3 kids, you douche. I'm pointing out that if you actually read the article objectively, what she's saying makes sense. I have also pointed out that the woman never says she's struggling or that she needs pity. That was the author's take.

Funny how judgmental people are about people with money.
