![]() | Re: MMV(make me vomit). Struggling on $300k/year. And any father worth a damn wouldn't want to see his kids struggling while he's living the high life. That's the problem with divorce and other similar situations. It's not the father who suffers, it's the kids. It's easier for him to maintain his lifestyle, even if he does have 20% coming out of his paycheck because after that 20%, he's home free. Most of the time the wife doesn't make the kind of money the husband did. She's the one who has to figure out how to work full time and take care of the kids, otherwise the kids get hit not only with the divorce, but also possibly the loss of their home, friends, school, etc. This is the same whether you go from $3mil a year to $300k or from $50k a year to $25k.

Also true, fathers tend to use placement as a method of getting their preferred financial treatment... that is mothers will bargain away a great deal of fincancial assistence in exchange for keeping the kids. | |

The article made the kids out to be vapid little shits with concern only for things. Kids are, inherently, changing at all times. Them not being able to get stupid fucking things because their parents income has gone down is still no cause for sympathy of these people as the article strives to evoke.
