Considering how much money several of them would cost - not to mention we'd have a highway in Texas that was completely privately-owned - and how hard it has been to pass the balanced budget even without these projects in place, it's not a leap to say that if his policies had been enacted he would have significantly hampered the economic viability of the state government in the current financial landscape.

Combine this with his retarded secession comments & all-around flip-flopping/grandstanding in an attempt to gain momentum for a run at the WH and I'll be very happy when he's tossed out of the Governor's Mansion on his ass.

Realistically, I blame Texas' low education numbers on Mexico. If you have immigrants from Mexico coming in, where are they going to go and settle most of the time? Texas.
I'm not saying Mexicans are stupid. But if they don't know English that well, then it would be logical to say that their education is going to suffer.

Most hispanic graduates do not "meet college requirements or satisfy prerequisites for most jobs that pay a living wage." The more unassimilated children in the school district the more the school has to do just to get kids to the starting line. The children of illegal immigrants tend to be highly represented amongst the unassimilated group. Texas must have very similar stats.

Im saying that states with a very large number of illegals (usually border states) can have the numbers be skewed. Especially when dealing with stats that tend to run fairly close to the mean across a 50 state plot.
