medicare is a one payer system. so, just curious, what makes you think we'll have a better chance of getting a one payer system if medicare fails?

a one payor system means only one payor in the system (healthcare) and usually refers to universal healthcare paid by the govt. medicare, medicaid, bcbs, uhc, cigna, humira, etc etc is more than one.

I see nothing coherent in it at all.
Even the people trying to defend it cant sell it or show where these town hall people are wrong in thier assumptions.
Personally I just see it as another move to completly socialize the country which 78% of are not in favor.

France, who is pretty much unanimously agreed to have the best healthcare system in the world doesn't have a single payer system. None of the countries in the top 10 have single payer systems. So why would the U.S. having a single payer system be the best thing?

my thoughts on the matter is that one of the bigger reasons why healthcare is such a problem in this country is because we are such an unhealthy country. if we didn't have McDonalds on every corner and people didn't make fast food and soda their regular diet... if people didn't spend the majority of their time sitting around on their ass not doing anything... then that would go a long way to helping out the countries healthcare problems.

Im not saying that there isnt a far right ice cream social going on right now... but the Dems arent doing much to put out the fire... in fact they are feeding it daily.

Obama could do himself a lot of good by just saying we are going to start over and we are going to get this right. Instead its pounding the table to get it through... which scares people even further... if not for the health care itself... for the fact that it can really be that easy to push your policy regardless of what the public isnt fully agreeing with.

He could come out and admit that he changed his mind from 2003 about advocating single payer healthcare. Last week he mentioned never saying it in his "town hall meeting" setup. He could say that "I know I said in 2007 that I want to remove employer based healthcare plans and that it would take some time to achieve that, but I have reconsidered that and now have a different viewpoint". This would greatly improve my opinions of him. But he doesnt do it even though he knows we have all seen this from him on Youtube and the like. Doesnt do much for his credibility.
