Just tired of people who cannot entertain opposite points of view...I hate Fox, but I watch it over CNBC, because there is no point watchin folks that lean your or my way.....I figure A) if what they say pisses me off, then I solidify my point of view, or if b) they come with some persuasive dialogue (rarely, but) then I may change my mind on something I feel strongly about.....

I subscribe to the most outspoken, far right rag out there- Forbes....Shit, their most recent issue has Exxon as the Greenest Company in the world on the cover...provocative? Yes.....but if it supports a foundation for me to grow, so be it, but if it helps to secure my belief that they are misguided, at the least, the devil at the most, then I continue to read and expand my intellect....

I stick to my own agenda and take it all in as I can to come up with my own perception. You can retire from life at any time, but if you take your knowledge with you and don't share it, what have you really done?

If you feel passionate about creating change, entreat others and lend your efforts to things which may strengthen that which you support.

Change is an illusion, much like control.....I voted Obama, and dearly hope he is not just another fuck, but the odds are against him...and although he has done decent thus far....hopefully he does not fail.....but the right that is trying to destroy him are despicable, much like the left with Bush ( although I agree with much of it )....I have noticed the talkin who slant left are even questioning his ability to work the system to achieve his goals.

In keeping with the spirit of the thread, it is not CHANGE which is the illusion in question here. It is PERCEPTION. "Perception is 90% of reality" (or so someone supposedly said).

Now with that as the current case, like you noted, there is a lot of mudslinging and criticism given of the man and his endeavors.

Without criticism, everything goes through without thought, and then we get exactly what we reap immediately. While I don't care for the more ill-repped Right and SOME of their attacks (note that speaking ill and withholding votes on subjects is LEGAL RIGHT granted them so I can't hate on that), I appreciate the fact that they can do it and that Obama has not run back in a war like his predecessor to punish those who would do so.

Now barring the whitehouse.snitch.giv site that everyone was up in arms about, that is the most "retaliation" given by the current administration regarding naysayers. All the rest of the political actions were things planned or plotted WELL before the mudslinging began.

As one power ebbs, a new one fills in the vaccuum. This is what we voted in with the creation of our nation and the way it must be.

I'm okay with barbs as long as the power of the people stands resolute. When the mandate comes down that we must all give that away, that is when you should be mad.

We aren't there yet.

If the words don't suit you, tune them out. That's what I do.

I am so happy to hear that someone else does this. I watch Fox almost exclusively, and for the most part I feel like I am learning something about myself that I didn't know. Then again, a portion of it makes me cringe. I doubt that many conservatives seek opposition in such a calculated manner.

This brings me to another point. Do you think liberals are just as guilty of only hearing what they want to hear? As far as I understand, the definition of "liberal" lends itself to debate. I think the current air of debate is proof of this. On one hand, you can say that the Democrats are failing with their current momentum because they suck and have bad ideas. On the other hand, you could praise the fact that the democratic process is alive and well.

Personally, I am happy that there is this huge shit-storm of debate going on right now. I would rather the Dems argue about this as opposed to them ramming through unpopular legislation.

As far as Jesus goes, he is unworldly. Correct?
