it is illegal for illegals to be here... but they are. There are no requirements that the patient demonstrate citizenship to receive treatment... meaning that the provision you cited is toothless window dressing... especially in light of the fact that provisions requing proof of citizenship were struck from the bill ... ornery fucking ant eater

Nor would they under the proof requirements that were rejected (EMTs don't ask for ID before sewing your head back on)... nor should they EVER be.

However, once out of trauma and in recovery it would be reasonable to check on their citizenship status and boot illegals as soon as they are healthy enough to travel and their home country can manage their care.

The bill says that it will not pay for illegal aliens, but they refuse to make people prove that they are not illegal. The Democratic Representative from Houston put the provision in the bill, but it was thrown out. Why? just like everything else.. they refuse to enforce illegal immigration in any way shape or form.

So, yes... illegals will be able to sign up for this and "technically" no one will know... Quite simple actually
