I must have missed something because all I saw was a bunch of people booing with the occasional idiot getting in his face. How does this even compare to a riot?

It was so mild because the crowd showed restraint or the fact he was surrounded by 7 policemen? It was reported that he was still pushed and spit on. I didn't see it on the video though, but that didn't capture the entire time he was there either. Regardless, it wasn't meant to be a comparison or rationalization of the riots. Just an illustration that the teabaggers aren't nearly as docile as jason would suggest given the right stimulus; that being an old guy carrying a sign that disagreed with their point of view.
