That aint no lie right there. All this H1N1, and the year before of bird flu, is completely blown out of proportion. Its a ponzi scheme to make money. Powerful people using their powerful buddies in the lime light of mass media, while padding their pockets with OOOddles of money from scaring people into buying their product, and giving the excuse for government funding. More people have died from the "standard" flu in previous years, than have ever been from the "bird" flu.

Complete and utter transfer of wealth. Just relocating money from the poor to the rich... all simply b/c we are a bunch of pussies living in fear, that believe everything we're told from our government and media. Sad

I think you're in tin foil territory. Rummy and Cheney left their assets in a blind trust just like every other member of the government at that level. Rumsfeld absconded himself from any discussions that would pertain to Gilead, and went even further by instructing the pentagon's general counsel to outline exactly how he could and could not be involved in the event of any kind of flu pandemic. The fact is that Rumsfeld served in some capacity on Gilead's board since the late 80's. Long before any kind of flu pandemic scare (in recent memory), and assuming you don't think Gilead concocted H5N1 or H1N1a. You can't help but to make money off the deal when the government comes calling for your product and you're one of the only two creators of drugs shown effective against it. There are logical choices of why the government chose to contract more with Roche (Tamiflu's distributor) than with GlaxcoSmithKline (Relenza's distributor). Mostly being that one was inhaled and the other was a convenient pill...not that evil Rumsfeld was behind the scenes secretly directing the government to get Tamiflu instead of Relenza.

If it's any relief, and I hope it's not, but it's only a matter of time before Tamiflu is effectively useless against the flu. It's been shown that the virus can develop a resistance to it. It's ineffective in 99.6% of the other seasonal variations of H1N1.

I'm more than happy to work on this issue. I've been railing about this for years all the while being labeled a terrorist sympathizer. It's not the location...you don't have to close gitmo just because it's in some extraterritorial legal gray area. However in an effort to keep at least a modicum of moral authority in this whole thing you do have to provide them with a means to fair and due process, and military tribunals don't neatly fit that bill.
