It drives down innovation for one. Why leave your job and invent something in your garage if you're worried about your pregnant wife and kids? I know your retort will be "well look how much we've invented so far without HC.."

But, watch this... I'd agree that it would make sense to find a way to decouple insurance from employment - not because it stifles innovation, because we've seen none of that so far but because it hinders freedom of movement of employees. Where I'd disagree, of course, is that the solution is a public plan.

why does this have to be such a dis to obama? as its been said before, the U.S. has had the olympics recently and hey, Tokyo lost too, which maybe in the top 3-4 cities in the world. Does that mean that Japan has been dissed as well?

Regardless of the political climate(like every area in the U.S. isnt/hasnt been plagued by political corruption), Chicago is one of the great u.s. cities and pretty much shits on any Texas city other than maybe the winter weather.

It is a great city and I wish we had gotten the games for all the reasons stated. It is also corrupt to a degree that perhaps only NOLA and a handful of others can reach.

I suppose that's true in a sense. But, we can look at how much has been done without. Its awfully impressive. Have other systems that use public care offered innovation at the same pace? (An honest question)
