think about it.. yes he is not George W Bush and that's a good thing and yeah if Bush wasn't such a dumbshit and we didn't have something that stark to show the contrast then maybe he doesn't win this but the fact that he won it shows something about what his election and his actions have meant around the world.

Obama may have a lot of good intentions, but good intentions don't amount to shit until there are real tangible achievements. I mean you can hope and wish for whatever you want but it doesn't mean a GD thing until you've done something about it and championed your obstacles.

b) obama has made inroads with gov'ts that bush refused to talk to

well, his election did a lot in the way of diplomacy... i don't know what the specific requirements are for a Nobel peace prize to be honest. i just know what his election has meant around the world.

if we elected McCain, we would be in an entirely different situation in the world community today then we are today because of Obama.

so yeah, it was 12 days into his term... but it wasn't 12 days after his being elected. so there is that.
