I've seen episodes of Cops where they've got like ten guys on one dude on the ground and one fool will come WWF style and land on his head with his knee. It's hard to feel sorry for the people who this happens to but at the same time I don't think it should be tolerated. Reminds me of ex high school foot ballers who get into the whole rush of it and love to be bullies.

Oh, and I fraternize quite a bit with law enforcement workers because of my wife's work (especially now) and I really haven't met anyone who fits that mold. I used to think the whole "bad apple" thing was bullshit until I really started meeting these people. Then again these are highly trained agents and not beat cops.

Context:Film Of Police Attack On G20 Climate Camp

around 19:45 police push into the south side of the climate camp on bishopsgate. this short film shows the campers calling out "this is not a riot" and holding their arms in the air, while riot police surge forward wielding batons and shields in an unprovoked attack.

bikes, tents and personal belongings were damaged and lost in the attack. several people were injured. reports of several arrests. at one point a small group of people are trapped between riot police coming in from a side entrance on the east, and more pushing up from the south.

this footage must be seen by the justice committee on 'policing protests'. almost every one of their recommendations are broken. reports have come in of wide use of anti-terror legislation and also intimidation of photographers.

Food for thought is all I'm providing really. Not trying to say that ALL uniformed servants hold reckless abandon in high regards. I would venture to say that the majority of the folks that enlist into public servitude do so with the right intentions. But, as for me, it's hard to see the forest through the trees so to speak. I guess I can't really trust anyone to do the right thing... not even gov't & public officials.

In general terms being cuffed/restrained isn't necessarily subdued. So yes, an officer may continue to use force after a person has been cuffed.
