TARP money was used in the merger of Pfizer/Wyeth looks like about 20,000 people lost their jobs... financed by TARP.  that's it in a nut shell. i'm so glad my money was used to finance this merger putting people out of work and cutting the R&D funding of Wyeth down 70%

there are articles all over the net. the merger was started back around the beginning of the year and finalized last thrusday. tons of people just lost their jobs... not just management. sales, r&d, etc... merger was set in place by wall street banks using funds from TARP.

The stimulus can't force companies to keep employees on. Businesses do what's right to keep their head above water. Employees are the easiest way to reduce overhead quickly. Now if you're referring to state-funded jobs that's a different story. Got any stats on state funded jobs?

Of course Obama is just a puppet, like any president, but so far his strings don't seem to be held as much by Big pharma.
