What's your stance on Health Care? I mean think about it, you ever been to a state hospital or the VA? ITs not as good as service, is govt take over of healthcare a good idea?

Well there may be alot of posts about it. I wanted to start fresh and ask, giving the situation of how bad state hospitals are, and the VA, veterans, do you think its a good idea for a government take over?

My grandfather gets better service at the OKC VA than he's gotten at any other hospital he's been to. He's never waited longer than 20 minutes and they've managed to do quite a lot to extend his quality of life.

A buddy of mine from HS has had very good service from the VA. Whenever more pieces of shrapnel maneuver into pleasces from which they can be removed... they take them out. No charge no significant waiting time.

My grandfathers... ditto until they went on medicare.

My sister-in-law works for the VA with violent trauma head injury patients guiding them through the system so they get where they need to be to get what they need be it appointments with physicians, counselors or rehab therepists... and they do great work... as well they should.

The VA is a limited service and I don't think you can analogize from that to healthcare as a whole. No system will be perfect but you kinda got appels to oranges here.

I have to admit though. I was put into a mental hospital, and JPS was lame, but when I went to a private one it was much better. And I do go and get a 70% discount on my health care now, but its not as good as the regular doctor. I mean its just kinda ranky danky.
