| Bush approval rating nosedives
Boy George's ratings have continued to plummet and now the majority of americans disapprove of his policies on the economy. Only 54% approval rating is down from over 80% right after sept. 11. Looks like some of my fellow conservatives are realizing... wait, this guys not conservative after all- he's a fuckin fascist pig, with a below average IQ and vocabulary to boot. Jah willing, some other, less dangerous criminal will rescue our country from the Bush Crime Family in 2004. Keep the pressure on. When celebrities or journalists speak their minds about Bush's childish diplomacy or destructive environmental policies, praise them. Support the voices of dissent and let them know that they, not the parasites in Washington, are truly representing the people of the USA and the rest of the world. |

"A just released Harris Poll shows that Bush's approval rating has dropped to 52%. Right after September 11, he was at 88%. Two months ago he was at 64%. 46% give him negative ratings now, up from 35% two months ago. " Here are the poll results: * President Bush down from 88% to 52%, a decline of 36 points. * Secretary of State Colin Powell down from 88% to 76%, a decline of 12 points. * Vice President Dick Cheney down from 69% to 45%, a decline of 24 points. * Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld down from 78% to 56%, a decline of 22 points. * Attorney General John Ashcroft down from 65% to 51%, a decline of 14 points. * House Speaker Dennis Hastert down from 52% to 33%, a decline of 19 points. * The Republicans in Congress down from 67% to 43%, a decline of 24 points. * The Democrats in Congress down from 68% to 38%, a decline of 30 points |

one thing to note, the approval polls for everybody (bush, republicans, democrats) are down. people are generally more unsatisfied with the government, not specifically just with Bush. 52% approval rating still isn't really that bad, when you compare that to previous presidents. of course, it isn't great either good ol' g.w. bush has had the highest approval rating in history, somewhere around 92%.. the closest runner up was, you guessed it, his daddy-- george bush..at 89% (during the gulf war, imagine that) i can only hope that his (and that bastard devil ashcroft's) approval rating keeps going downhill. |

we can hope that the overall disapproval of government will lead to a real, decent party getting some votes and becoming a power in US politics. Even if a third party could start pulling 10-15% of total votes, the Republicrats would have a real force holding them accountable and maybe some of the voters here would wake up and hit the polls...

For all you smug conservatives who think Bush has a definite four more years coming, go back and look at the numbers for Bush senior one year prior to the '92 election. It's all going to depend on the economy, a factor over which he has very little control. Who knows, we might even have a Clinton in office again.

You left out a few key accomplishments, WarLord: -reduced civil rights/liberties and judicial review -restrengthened the war on drugs -turned back the clock on major environmental measures -held off on presenting major environmental reports (such as increased mercury levels nationwide -- all the while allowing industry to increase pollution) -increased military spending YET AGAIN -participated in and escaped blame for Enron (and Halliburton for Cheney) -trampled on the conservative notion of state's rights -increased federal bureaucracy -lied to the American people numerous times on issues FAR more significant to his presidency than having sex with an intern -the list goes on |

yes, but you weren't alive during any of those times, I'm sure lincoln was hated by a mass majority at times of his term. It's just when sooo many ppl bitch like this it reminds me of watching sports with my friends. Someone fumbles the ball and the yell that the player sucks..but he's obviously better at the game then my friend cause he's geting paid to do it. It's easy to sit on the side and bitch about what you see wrong, it's harder to actually get off you ass and try and fix it. This whole forum is full of Bush hating threads, kinda makes me laugh.....but ya know what...IF YOU DIDN'T VOTE, THEN YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BITCH! I vote so I'm allowed, but all the ppl that come in here and complain, that didn't vote, then they need to shove it. | |
